For the illustration of this mental model, irrelevant components such as balls,
sticks and glue can be used for the construction of display models: sphere packing
or crystal structure models (see Fig. 6.3 ). In addition to sphere packing and crystal
structure models, the resulting display model for the structure of crystals can also be
a unit cell only (see Fig. 6.3 ).
