The Occupants
The Franks - father Otto, mother Edith, older sister Margot and Anne - moved into the
hidden chambers in July 1942, along with Mr and Mrs van Pels (whom Anne called the
van Daans in her diary) and their son Peter. Five months later Fritz Pfeffer (aka Albert van
Dussel) joined the household. The group lived there until they were mysteriously betrayed
to the Gestapo in August 1944.
