Day Two
Browse the Albert Cuypmarkt ( Click here ) , Amsterdam's largest street
bazaar, an international free-for-all of cheeses, fish, stroopwafels (syrup waffles)
and bargain-priced clothing. Then submit to the Heineken Experience ( Click here ) to get
shaken up, heated up and 'bottled' like the beer you'll drink at the end of the brewery tour.
Have lunch at Bazar Amsterdam ( Click here ) or one of the other ethnic eateries
lining Albert Cuypstraat. Make your way over to the Southern Canal Belt and
stroll along the grand Golden Bend ( Click here ) . Visit Museum Van Loon ( Click here )
for a peek into the opulent canal-house lifestyle, or see the lifestyle with a dose of kitty
quirk at the Kattenkabinet ( Click here ). Tour the glinting waterways with Boom Chica-
go Boats ( Click here ) or Blue Boat Company ( Click here ).
Splash out at Indonesian Blue Pepper ( Click here ) for dinner. Then it's time to
par-tee at hyperactive, neon-lit Leidseplein. If you get here before 7.30pm week-
days (6pm weekends), check at the Uitburo ( Click here ) for concerts or show tickets.
Paradiso ( Click here ) and Melkweg ( Click here ) host the coolest agendas. Otherwise
the good-time clubs and cafes around the square beckon. Try beery Café de Spuyt ( Click
here ) or historic Eijlders ( Click here ) .
