Fuel Up at Café Orloff

Dockside Lounging at Entrepotdok
Entrepotdok ( 9/14 Plantage Kerklaan) unfurls a 500m string of 19th-century shipping
warehouses now packed with offices, apartments and dockside cafes perfect for laz-
ing away a few hours by the water. Look closely across the water at the Artis Royal
Zoo, and you might spot the oryx or zebras toward the east end.
Wertheimpark's Memorial
Opposite the Hortus Botanicus, Wertheimpark (Plantage Parklaan; dawn-dusk; 9/14
Mr Visserplein) is a willow-shaded spot brilliant for lazing by the Nieuwe Herengracht.
On the park's northeast side locals often place flowers at the Auschwitz Memorial, a
panel of broken mirrors installed in the ground that reflects the sky.

Covering the square once known as Vlooienburg (Flea Town), the Waterlooplein

sharp-eyed customers seeking everything from antique knick-knacks to imitation
Diesel jeans, pot lollipops and cheap bicycle locks. The street market started in 1880
when Jewish traders living in the neighbourhood started selling their wares here.
