Firma Pekelhaaring
€€
ITALIAN
Full of graphic-designer types having long lunches with wine, this joint offers an arty in-
dustrial vibe with loads of fun and little pretence. Social touches - like the communal table,
strewn with magazines and board games to play over dessert - belie the focused attention
on fresh Italian flavours. Kids will find a small stash of toys to play with.

Mamouche
€€
Mamouche gets serious acclaim for its French-accented North African cuisine: think Mo-
rocco amid minimalism. The sleek design, with exposed flooring, mottled raw plaster walls
and slat-beam ceilings, complements the changing selection of organic, seasonal
tajine
(Moroccan stew) and couscous dishes. It is one of De Pijp's most posh urban spots.

Op de Tuin

MEDITERRANEAN
This is the kind of breezy, informal neighbourhood restaurant where you can while away an
evening snacking on an antipasti platter (let the chef decide on a mix of Mediterranean
standards) or a beautifully prepared three-course meal, and fantasise that you live across
the street. Many of the regulars do.
