De Dageraad
One of the best Amsterdam School housing projects aside from Het Schip, 'The Dawn' is
worth a visit if you're an architecture buff. It was developed between 1918 and 1923 for
poorer families. The central structure, on PL Takstraat, is a dramatic curving staircase.
Tours (€7.50 per person) are offered on the hour Friday through to Sunday between 11am
and 5pm, departing from the office at Burgemeester Tellegenstraat 128 (at the corner of
PL Takstraat).
