Strolling the Southern Canal Belt
Puttin' on the ritz is nothing new to the Southern Canal Belt. Most of the area
was built at the end of the 17th century, when Amsterdam was wallowing in
Golden Age cash. A wander through reveals grand mansions, swanky antique
shops, indulgent patisseries and a one-of-a-kind kitty museum. And while it's all
stately it's certainly not snobby.
