Social - name, gender, age, religion, civil status, family composition, place of
residence, level of education
Economic - household's standard of living, daily expenses, possession of
essential goods ensuring the quality of life (electricity, water, radio, TV,
refrigerator, freezer)
Technical and production - sources of irrigation water, organization of market
gardening (seniority, area exploited, time devoted, distribution of tasks by
gender) and agricultural equipment and inputs
Biodiversity - types of vegetable species cultivated, animal species raised
Environmental (other than biodiversity) - bacteriological and chemical
characteristics of irrigation water, management of agricultural inputs affecting
the environment, risks from behaviour during work, health risks to market
gardeners or other actors in the agri-ecosystem
Self-reliance - identification of problems related to UA, research on causes of
problems and their solutions, assistance for the market gardener, identification
and analysis of solutions by the market gardener, definition of important needs
by the market gardener, strengthening of capacities.
