The Hula Nature Reserve includes a rare glimpse of the desert wetland landscape
(Figure 6.4) and has an extensive network of trails, as shown in a map in the car park
(Figure 6.5). The visitor center is not very architecturally inspiring (Figure 6.6) but
functions as offices and provides some minor interpretation (only in Hebrew). Parking
is arranged under an attractive glade of trees important in such hot Middle Eastern
climates (Figure 6.7). Shaded areas are provided for visitors (Figure 6.8), as well as a
buffalo-viewing hide (Figure 6.9) to observe the reintroduced buffalo (marsh Arabs
have not been invited to return). There is an impressive network of raised boardwalks
that wind through the dense reed beds (Figure 6.10) as well as viewing platforms,
