For all regenerative landscape designs ( sensu France 2007a), it is important
to be wary of environmental “allies”; in other words, sometimes those who
one thinks will be most supportive of the restoration efforts may turn out to
be the most difficult group to contend with. It is, therefore, often necessary
to be innovative and adaptable in the various ecotourism options put for-
ward in order to circumvent such confrontation (see chapters 13 and 15).
