On the tenth day, there is a celebration of triumph over evil.
The elderly person of the household puts a
tika
(ceremonial
red spot) on the forehead of all persons in the family, with
blessings and the exchange of gifts. During the final five days,
people celebrate by visiting relatives to receive tikas and bless-
ings of the goddess Durga.
