Located on the way to the base camp of Mount Everest, Tengboche
Monastery is visited by over 30,000 people a year. Destroyed once
by an earthquake and again by a fire, rebuilding the monastery has
become very important to the Nepalese and Sherpa communities
because of its cultural significance.

very popular among tourists in Nepal.
Sherpas are the world-famous ethnic group that lives in
the Khumbu (Everest) region of the Himalayas. They migrated
to Nepal from the Kham of Tibet in the late 1400s. Sherpas
