Surrounded by a national park, the tallest peak in the world—Mount
Everest—is located in Nepal. Nepal is a small country, and the towering
Himalayan mountain range occupies its territory, blessing Nepal with
eight of the world's highest peaks.
Edmund P. Hillary became the first people to scale Everest. They
reached the summit on May 29 of that year, climbing their way
into history and immortality.
Once scaled, Mount Everest soon became a popular chalᆳ
lenge for trekkers and mountaineers from around the world.
Many visitors, of course, came simply to view the snowᆳ and
iceᆳcapped peaks that resemble sparkling white pyramids reachᆳ
