Clay finishes
With its excellent moisture buffering qualities and high thermal mass, clay is the natural
choice (excuse the pun) as a finish to complement a hempcrete wall internally. Usually
clay is not suitable for external wall applications, since it deteriorates quickly on exposure
to the elements. Occasionally, people have used clay to finish a very sheltered outside wall,
but this is very much the exception rather than the norm.
