is aware of how this will affect drying times, and contingency planning has been done to
manage this eventuality.
Our advice is to plan to start building as early as possible in the year. Indeed, approaching
the problem from another angle: wherever possible, we would advise that you plan for the
external walls to remain un-rendered for several months or more, to give the hempcrete
plenty of time to dry out. There is no reason, unless the walls are unduly exposed to the
prevailing weather, why hempcrete walls cannot be left unfinished externally for months
while the interior is plastered and fitted out and the building occupied and heated, which
of course can only speed up the drying process.
