9 Apothecary
BAR
OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP
With its lovingly prepared cocktails (the menu includes a brief history of the classic drinks)
and some very impressive bar snacks, Apothecary has become the cocktail bar of choice
for many in Beijing. It's much more relaxed than its swanky, 5-star hotel competitors but
the service can be slow and there's a bizarre no-standing policy. ( 酒术 ; 3rd fl Nali Patio, 81 San-
litun Beilu 三里屯北路 81 号那里花园 3 ; cocktails from ¥60;
6pm-late Tue-Sun;

Top Tip
Seedy Sanlitun
These days, the main drag of Sanlitun Lu is rather tawdry - at night the touts for massage parlours and hookers
emerge - and the bars are strictly for the undiscerning. Don't let the people lurking outside them drag you in; the
drinks are expensive and/or fake and there are far better places in which to imbibe nearby.

A bar and Spanish restaurant, Migas becomes wildly popular in the summer when its
rooftop terrace - the highest and arguably the coolest spot in Sanlitun's Nali Patio (see 9

drinks (there's an excellent wine list), although the tapas has its fans; instead it's the city
views and laid-back but hip atmosphere that makes Migas a winner. ( 米家思 ; 6th fl Nali Patio,
