In Figure 5.4b, the “Send To” option in the Bar Chart toolbar was selected to send the graph to Excel.
Different messages may appear between the time you select the Excel button (
) and when the workbook
opens.
If there are no Excel workbooks open when you are sending the graph to Excel, then SAS Enterprise Guide
will send the graph to “Book n ” in your default “Documents” folder. If “Book1” does not exist, it will create
“Book1”. Otherwise, “ n ” will increment to the next available number. When a Microsoft Excel workbook
is open, you are given a choice of creating a new workbook (in your documents folder), sending the graph
to an open workbook, or opening a workbook to receive the output. The end result can be seen in Figure
5.5. Depending upon your system default settings, your version of SAS Enterprise Guide might even open
the Excel workbook that is created.
