14.4.7 Common Issues That Might Occur.
Because a few people in the world take things because they can, the rest of us have to put up with many
annoying things to prevent us from doing something we would not do anyway. One of those items is shown
in Figure 14.29. While some systems will allow you to sign a program that you write for use on your own
computer, others will not allow this. Some systems will allow you to use the Excel “OPTIONS” to assign
“Trusted” status to programs. This will allow VBA macro code to execute on your computer. Other
systems will not allow this either. Older systems are not as good at preventing or trapping attempts to run
Excel workbooks with embedded *.bas VBA macros. A message such as that in Figure 14.29 appears
typically because the workbook you are trying to execute is not trusted. You may have to ask your IT
Department to help you solve these issues.
