The view from the top-floor restaurant of this modest hotel is probably the best in the Old
City. The Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Topkapı Palace, Galata Tower, Dolmabahçe Palace and
the Bosphorus Bridge provide a stunning backdrop to a menu showcasing good kebaps (we
recommend the kuzu şiş ), interesting Ottoman-influenced stews and a few vegetarian
dishes. (

This recent addition to the city's growing number of restaurants specialising in so-called
Ottoman Palace Cuisine is well worth a visit. The chef has sourced 375 recipes from the
imperial archives and offers an array of dishes, some of which are more successful than
others. The surrounds are attractive and there's live Ottoman music on Friday and Saturday
nights. (

Advertising itself as an Osmanlı mutfağı (Ottoman kitchen), Paşazade has long garnered
rave reviews from tourists staying in the hotels around Sirkeci. Well-priced dishes are
served in the streetside restaurant or on the rooftop terrace (summer only). Portions are
large, the food is tasty and service attentive. (
