The leafy parks and gardens in and around this opulent Ottoman palace stand in
stark contrast to the crowded shopping streets clustered around the Eminönü
ferry docks, but both areas are full of life and well worth a visit. Topkapı is per-
ennially packed with tourists and Eminönü with locals; between them lies Gül-
