Day Three
Climb aboard the mid-morning Boğaz Gezileri ferry cruise heading down the
Bosphorus ( Click here ) , marvelling at the Ottoman-era mansions and palaces
that line the Asian and European shores. Alight at Sarıyer, and take a bus or taxi to the
pretty suburb of Emirgan, home to the impressive Sakıp Sabancı Museum ( Click here )
and its glamorous restaurant, MüzedeChanga ( Click here ) .
Continue on your journey back to town by bus, stopping to visit the majestic fort-
ress of Rumeli Hisarı ( Click here ) , built by order of Mehmet the Conqueror.
Have a rest at one of the çay bahçesis (tea gardens) next to the fortress or continue along
the coast road to the ultrafashionable suburb of Bebek, where you can enjoy a coffee on the
terrace of Starbucks, which offers a fantastic view over the water. From here continue on to
Lokum ( Click here ) in Kuruçeşme, where you can purchase exquisitely packaged Turkish
delight to take home.
Stay in the Bosphorus suburbs for dinner, eating sushi at Zuma ( Click here ) ,
Mod Med at Vogue ( Click here ) or seafood mezes at Sıdıka ( Click here ) .
Afterwards, dance the night away at one of the clubs on the Golden Mile ( Click here ) .
