One service connects Aksaray with the airport, stopping at 15 stations on the way. Ser-
vices depart every 10 minutes or so from 5.40am until 1.40am and a
jeton
costs 2.

Another service connects Şişhane, near Tünel Sq in Beyoğlu, with Taksim Sq at the op-
posite end of İstiklal Caddesi. From Taksim Sq, a line travels to business and residential
suburbs northeast. Services run every five minutes or so from 6.15am to midnight.

Works are currently underway to extend the Taksim-Şişhane route over the Golden Horn
via a new metro bridge and under the Old City to Yenikapı via stops at Unkapanı and Şe-
hzadebaşı. It will then connect with the metro to Aksaray and with a transport tunnel be-
ing built under the Bosphorus as part of the city's huge Marmaray transport project.
