Weekend Wander in Ortaköy
The settlement of Ortaköy (Turkish for 'Middle Village') dates back to Byzantine
times, when it was a small fishing village. These days, the picturesque cobbled
laneways surrounding its waterside square, known as İskele (Ferry Dock)
Square, are filled with cafes, bars and fast-food stands. On Sundays, a handi-
crafts market draws visitors from across the city.
