a monopole and a cement basement, offshore wind turbines can be fixed by various
basement structures like tripods, jackets, monopiles, or swimming basements.
Swimming basements are still in the testing phase (FLOATGEN project), while
currently tripods are mostly used. In the case of offshore wind park alpha ventus
(described in Sect. 5.4 ), tripods and jackets are tested. Piles will be ignored in this
study due to the fact that the model resolution cannot resolve such small turbu-
lences. But that assumption will not influence analysis because turbines themselves
