The western side of the south wall has carvings on its lower half only, including a
panel showing arms, including a crossbow deployed from the back of an elephant and a
catapult on wheels.
Third enclosing wall bas-reliefs: west wall
The first portion of the western wall is unfinished; look out here for an ascetic climbing
a tree to escape from a hungry tiger, near the centre of the panel. Towards the centre of
the panel, before the gopura, a street fight is in progress: people shake their arms in
anger, while above, two severed heads are shown to the crowd.
Along the northern half of the west wall, look out for the scene showing men with
sticks chasing other men with round shields, passing a pond in which a large fish
swallows a small deer .
Third enclosing wall bas-reliefs: north wall
On the western side of the north wall , a light-hearted circus scene features jugglers,
acrobats and wrestlers alongside a parade of animals including rhinos, rabbits and deer.
