An example of the effect of the sample volume on sensitivity can be observed in Figure 12.2 [10]. This
experimental data is consistent with Equation (12.6). Sensitivity is increased about one order of magnitude
when sample volume increases from 10 to 1000 ml. Note that the observed plateau is due to the need of
drastically increasing equilibration time with sample volumes higher than 1 l.
