EGEE is currently preparing for its next phase running from 2008 to 2010,
during which it will maintain, enhance, and simplify the use of the infra-
structure for an increasing range of researchers in diverse scientii c i elds.
Particular focus will be laid on simplifying the operation of the infra-
structure through improved automation (such as automatic installation
and coni guration, monitoring, error recovery, etc.) as well as through
improving the stability and scalability of the gLite services. In this context
the scalability of the information system, a common authorization system,
and the scalability of the job and data management systems will be
focused on. In addition, the usability of the system will be increased
through collaborations with application groups, the provision of high-
level access mechanisms (portals), and the increased usage of established
standards as well as increased user support.
The usage and enforcement of SLAs between VOs and sites will increase
thanks to the sophisticated EGEE accounting infrastructure. In addition,
SLAs will be set up between EGEE and sites as well, clearly dei ning the
