established VM skeleton is more efi cient compared with the statistics
provided in [3], [10], and [21].
For DVM mobility, the most outstanding challenges are the efi ciency
of migration and the live communication redirection. Experiments show
that our methods can address these problems. They show the great poten-
tial of a DVM in improving the migration performance of virtualized com-
puting environments.
16.4 Conclusions and Future Work
In this chapter, we have introduced virtual machine technologies and their
implementation in grid environments and discussed the development of a
DVM middleware to provide a l exible and dynamic virtual computing
environment. VM technologies have been identii ed as the able technology
to support system-level virtualization so that virtual working spaces can
be created and customized for users' needs in grid environments. However,
