branch by the lake and one inside the
village gate, both of which organize
homestays with a family at a Jun
longhouse in the village ($12), gong
shows and rice-wine feasts ($60/group),
guided treks or elephant rides around the
lake ($30/hr for two).
On the southwestern shore is a Mlieng
village, which can be reachable by boat or

LAK LAKE AND AROUND
Fifty-two kilometres south of Buon Ma
huot, Highway 27 passes Lak Lake , a
beautiful and peaceful spot. Along the
lake's shoreline, Emperor Bao Dai's
palace, which has been converted into a
three-star resort, enjoys a prime vantage
point. Beyond this sits JUN VILLAGE , a
thriving Mnong community, whose
