Mobile phones
If you want to use your mobile in Southeast Asia,
check with your provider whether it will work
abroad, and what the call charges are. Generally
speaking, UK, Australian and New Zealand mobiles
should work fine in Southeast Asia. However, with
US mobile phones only tri-band models are likely to
function outside the US.
You are likely to be charged extra for incoming calls
when abroad, as the people calling you will be paying
the usual rate. For further information about using

worth buying a local pre-pay SIM card, but you'll need
to get your phone “unlocked” before you leave home.
