GETTING AROUND
Buses
Convenient Trans Jogya buses run eight set routes
linking important points in the city (Rp3000). Route maps
are displayed at every station or
halte
(stop).
Becak
Becak are the most convenient form of transport,
and there are plenty of them around. It should cost no
more than Rp10,000 from Jl Sosro to the main post o
ce
(Rp15,000 from Jl Prawirotaman).
Horse-drawn carriages
Known as
andong
, they tend
to queue up along Jl Malioboro, and are a little pricier
than becak (starting around Rp20,000 for a ride around
Malioboro).
Taxis
Good value (Rp5500 minimum). You can usually find
them hanging around the main post o

Bike rental

ACCOMMODATION
A kilometre north of the Kraton, Jl Sosrowijayan (known
as Jl Sosro) is Yogyakarta's answer to the Khao San Road
in Bangkok. There's a quieter, more upmarket cluster of
