GETTING AROUND
Buses and minibuses Bandung's white-and-blue
DAMRI buses cost Rp3000 for non-a/c and Rp4500 for
a/c. The buses ply routes between the bus terminals
through the centre of town. Red angkots (minibuses)
also run a useful circular route, via the train station and
the alun-alun (town square), to the Kebun Kelapa bus
terminal, which serves Cicaheum bus terminal, Dago,
Ledeng and Lembang.
Becaks and taxis Becaks line the major streets and are
useful for short journeys where the numerous one-way
streets can make an otherwise simple taxi journey
expensive. Bandung train station to Jl Braga costs around
Rp20,000. Regardless of meters, the minimum taxi charge
is usually Rp15,000. A recommended firm is Blue Bird
( T 022 756 1234).
