Delicious Western grub for the discerning budget traveller,
including sandwiches, quiches, grills, BBQs and curries
from $5. Packed out most nights. Daily 7am-11pm.
Starfish Café Off 7 Makara, behind Samudera Super-
market. Delicious Western bread, cakes ($2), scones and
other goodies served in a garden, or for takeaway. Arts
and crafts by Rajana Fairtrade are sold here, and there's
also massage upstairs - all profits go to Starfish 's grassroots
charity, which supports medical care, housing projects and
community workshops in Cambodia. Daily 7am-5pm.
Sunshine Café Otres 1 T 012 828432. Simple beach
restaurant serving up legendary fish sandwiches and
Khmer specialities including ban chow , Cambodian
pancakes with seafood and Khmer spices ($3), best
washed down with a fruit shake. Daily 9am-11pm.
Treasure Island Seafood Between Hawaii and
Independence beaches T 012 830505 A gem of a
restaurant serving Chinese food, with the emphasis on
succulent seafood and fish, set on its own small,
sunset-facing beach. Moderately priced, with seafood
dishes, such as grilled squid, from $6. Daily 9am-9pm.
Draught beer 75c during the 4-7pm and all day Monday
happy hour. Daily 11am-late
Utopia Between Golden Lion Roundabout and Serendipity
Beach. Popular late-night club with dance music, $2.50 cock-
tails, a swimming pool and a huge 25-person hot tub. Could
be a great place if it weren't for the hordes of prostitutes that
linger looking for drunken prey. Beer $1. Daily 10am-late.

DIRECTORY
Banks and exchange ATMs are readily available on
Serendipity Beach Rd and near Caltex downtown. Canadia
Bank, Ekareach St, east of 7 Makara St, for cash on MasterCard
and MoneyGram; First Union Commercial Bank, on the corner
of Ekareach and Sopheakmongkol streets. You can change
dollars for riel at the Acleda Bank, also on Ekareach St.
Cinema Just next to Beach Road , the tiny Top Cat cinema on
Serendipity Beach Road is open from 11am till late and has
private screening rooms where you can pick your own movies,
and a big screen playing relatively new releases ($4.50).

Hospitals and clinics Sihanoukville International Clinic
( T 012 738803), on Ekareach St, has a 24hr emergency
service. CT Clinic on Borei-Kamakor Rd ( T 034 936666)
offers a complete service, has English-speaking doctors
and accepts credit cards.
Internet ABC Computer on Ekareach St west of the town
centre ($1/hr) has a few terminals.
Police On Ekareach St between Independence Square
and the town centre ( T 093 666261 or T 093 666260).
Post o ce The main post o ce is one block behind Krong
St, near Independence Monument. You can get stamps and
post items at the smaller branch o ce opposite the market
(daily 8am-4pm).
Supermarkets Samudera Supermarket, 7 Makara St,
50m from Ekareach St (daily 6am-10pm), or Lucky Ocean,
200m north of the Golden Lions roundabout, on Ekareach
St (daily 7.30am-10pm).
BARS AND CLUBS
All bars and clubs are open daily and some stay open 24hr.
Ochheuteal Beach is party central.
Blame Canada Otres 1. You'll find plenty of atmosphere
at this buzzing pirate-themed beach bar, dotted with
plenty of cushioned satellite chairs, a pool table and
sunset-worthy upper deck for sipping cocktails (from
$3.50). Daily 7am-midnight.
Dolphin Shack Ochheuteal Beach. Loud and proud beach
bar with nightly parties, fireshows and even the occasional
mud-wrestling competition. Vodka buckets cost $4, beer
50c. Also runs booze cruises and hosts full-moon parties.
Open 24hr.
Jay Jay's Serendipity Beach. The spot for late-night
revelry. With bronzed backpackers covering themselves
in body-paint and dancing on the bar till dawn, this is
Sihanoukville's very own slice of Haad Rin Beach. Whisky
and Red Bull buckets $5. Daily 5pm-late.

This lively joint stocks an eye-popping range of rum and
tequila, and also serves very good Mexican food into the
early hours. Daily 5pm-2am.
REAM NATIONAL PARK
Ream National Park , also known as Preah
Sihanouk National Park, located 18km
east of Sihanoukville, is one of the most
accessible national parks in Cambodia,
and a great place to explore the country's
unique, unspoilt natural environment. Its
210 square kilometres include evergreen
and mangrove forests, sandy beaches,
Monkey Republic Between Golden Lion Roundabout
and Serendipity Beach. Most nights start with people
meeting for a few early drinks at Monkey , popular among
both tourists and expats alike for its wide drinks selection
including Guinness, cider and even Jagermeister, and good,
hearty food. Happy-hour beer 75¢. Daily 8am-midnight.
Sessions Serendipity Beach. Fun beach bar with deck
chairs, dancing platform and oceanfront location. Worth a
visit on the nights when they throw impromptu parties.
