validated by coupling 47 with three additional glycosyl thiols, namely 1-thio- -D-

mannose, 1-thio- -D-lactose and an alkyl-tethered sialyl thiol. Also these reactions

afforded the corresponding glycodendrimers 48b-d in nearly quantitative yields.
In conclusion, this work represented one of the most striking examples of the
power of TEC for glycoconjugation and paved the route for the attachment of other
biomolecules to 47 . Indeed, the introduction of peptides in 47 was reported in the
same paper [31].
