• Blondeau found that when seeds of peas, beans and wheat were electrified for one
minute, germination was hastened, and stockier, greener plants resulted. He also
found that when electricity was applied to fruit trees such as apple and pear, the
fruit ripened much earlier.
• McLoud found that with the use of electricity many seeds germinated earlier and
also experienced larger growth compared to untreated seeds.

ranging from 0.05 to 1 milliamp applied to lettuce and radishes. He achieved
growth rates averaging 34 to 37 percent greater than the control.
