Chapter 15: Conclusion
“Electrocultural techniques are fully compatible with organic, ecological, and
biodynamic methods of growing.” - Jeffery Goss Jr., Missouri, USA
Technological innovations like electro-horticulture are capable of greatly improving our
ability to not only assist with healing the lands that we've polluted over the years, but to
also feed and heal mankind. Before we wrap things up, I'd like to share my vision for
electroculture, based on everything I've learned so far.
Natural Organic Growth Stimulation
I'd like to begin by mentioning why it is important to consider the use of electricity-based
or even electromagnetic forms of crop stimulation. For starters, it's as natural as you can
get - electricity is everywhere! It's in the air, it's in the ground, and through the way atomic
physics,chemistry andbiologywork,naturemakesuseofbuilt-in and“stray” geo-electrical
sources stimulate life into sustaining or accelerating growth. As far as electroculture is
concerned at its fundamental level, it's as “organic” as you can get because there's nothing
artificial about it; it's just pure energy, like that of a lightning storm.
Using electricity as a stimulation agent puts the burden of “activation” upon the plant
itself, rather than through the use of externally-applied amendments, natural or otherwise.
Assumingthattheformofstimulationcorrectlymatchesaplantorcrop'sneeds,it'suptothe
plant to respond in such a way to create the chemical/hormone/protein synthesis reactions
needed to develop these new growth patterns. So what this means is that by just applying
a little extra electromagnetic energy to plants or their surrounding environment, we can
encourage plants to put their best foot (er, root) forward.
A Vision for the Future of Electroculture
In my vision, I see electroculture as being capable of improving many facets of agriculture.
I'd like to begin by revisiting the application ideas listed in the latter portion of the topic,
as I think it's in the way that we use technology that best defines how we can bring about
benevolent change in more sustainable way than has been previously done.
