Choosing a Database Edition
The Oracle database can be licensed in many forms. On the screen in Figure
6-21
you have the option to install
the Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, and Standard Edition One. The choice depends directly on your license
agreement with Oracle. Don't be tempted to install Enterprise Edition if there is no license for it. Not only is that
a breach of your contract with Oracle (which is bound to be noticed), but there is also a lot of work involved in
downgrading from Enterprise Edition to Standard Edition.
