Running and troubleshooting configuration scripts
There are two scripts to be executed as root for an Oracle Restart installation:
orainstRoot.sh
root.sh
Figure 6-14 shows you the pop-up which prompts for the script execution.
The exact path is indicated in the pop-up window, which can be copied into the clipboard. The first script to
run, orainstRoot.sh, ensures that the permissions on the central inventory are set correctly. The output of the script
execution is shown here:
Changing permissions of /u01/app/oraInventory.
Adding read,write permissions for group.
Removing read,write,execute permissions for world.
Changing groupname of /u01/app/oraInventory to oinstall.
The execution of the script is complete.
The next script-root.sh-sets up the foundation for Oracle Restart, and the output from running it is shown below:
[root@server1 ~]# /u01/app/grid/product/12.1.0.1/grid/root.sh
