LVs Piano Jazz Lounge This custom-built venue is the best place on the
island to hear international jazz, often American, which is performed on stage nightly.
The bartenders specialize in exotic cocktails, and you can also order “small bites,”
such as lobster and mango on a skewer with a sweet vanilla chili dressing or scallop
ceviche with seaweed salad. There's also a daily dim sum basket. Theme nights are a
regular feature Monday to Friday 4 to 8pm, ranging from wines of the week on Mon-
day to champagne night on Friday. Open Monday to Thursday noon to 1am, Friday
noon to 3am, and Saturday 8am to 1am. 12 Bermudiana Rd. &   441/296-3330. www.dining

Opus It's been described as a wine bar on steroids, drawing clients in their 30s, 40s,
and 50s who appreciate the sometimes magnificent vintages that are sold here by the
glass. It begins its day as a breakfast cafe, and serves sandwiches, salads, and wraps
at lunchtime. But its charms are most visible after 5pm, when it's a preferred after-
hours venue for office workers and members of the banking and financial community
from nearby Hamilton. The club, open Monday to Saturday 7am to 1am, charges
from $7 to $16 for a glass of wine. 4 Bermudiana Rd. &   441/292-3500. www.bermudas

The Spinning Wheel If you'd like to escape from the tourist hordes for a pint of
beer with the locals, head to this longtime neighborhood favorite, a virtual institution
since its opening in 1970. Named for a song by Blood, Sweat, and Tears (remember
them?), it's a relaxing joint with an outdoor pool area with a bar, but it sometimes
attracts rowdy locals. The place is most crowded with people from outside its imme-
diate neighborhood whenever there's a special event, such as a preannounced perfor-
mance by a local. An upstairs section for dancing to reggae and more draws a young
crowd. Happy hour is noon to 8pm Monday through Friday. Open daily noon to 3am.

and from one of the restaurant's three dining areas. 56 South Shore Rd. &   441/238-1977.
