Riihiluoma's Flying Colours This is everybody's favorite catchall emporium for
inexpensive, impulse-purchase souvenirs and T-shirts with perky slogans. You'll also
find paperweights, beach coverups, sarongs, key chains shaped like Bermuda, and
arts and crafts. The establishment's hard-to-spell name comes from the Finnish-born

Vera P. Card Vera P. Card is known for its “gifts from around the world,” including
the island's largest collection of Lladró and Hummel figurines. The crystal depart-
ment offers a wide assortment of Austrian, Czech, and Bohemian crystal, giftware,
and chandeliers. Look for the “Bermuda Collection” of 14-karat gold jewelry as well
as an impressive collection of colored gemstones. Two stores are in St. George's, at 7 Water

GROCERS
The Marketplace This is the largest grocery store on the island, catering to locals
and vacationers alike. There are various branches scattered across the island, but the
chain headquarters is in Hamilton at the address below. Started in 1939, the chain
was originally called Piggly Wiggly. If you don't want to cook, you can purchase pre-
cooked food here to carry away with you, including homemade soups, freshly made
salads, main courses for dinner, even stir-fries and luscious desserts. Locals often
drop in for a hot lunch, and there is a lot of organic foodstuff. The main branch stays

Miles Market Visiting New Yorkers call this Balducci's of Bermuda because of its
upmarket selection of gourmet food items. On site is the first Godiva coffee bar in
the world, and, of course, all Godiva chocolate products are for sale. If you are cook-
ing, you'll find the best selection of meat on the island, including hand-selected and
aged beef, along with lamb, pork, poultry, and seafood. Their “World of Cheese” is a
special, exotic treat as well. The outlet will also deliver your bag of groceries anywhere
