Ocean Club ASIAN/SEAFOOD This oceanfront restaurant, perched atop a
low cliff overlooking rocks and pink sands, is an artfully minimalist, modern venue
surrounded with clusters of sea grapes and Norfolk Island pines. The panoramic view
through the huge windows is the airy restaurant's most prominent feature.
Expect a roster of Pacific Rim cuisine. Examples include steamed mussels with a
coconut curry lemon-grass sauce; tuna tartare with mango; spicy Asian chicken salad;
rockfish with smoked paprika, Manila clams, and chorizo sausage; and pan-seared
halibut in fennel broth with shiitake mushrooms.
There's live entertainment Tuesday through Sunday.

Ocean Echo BERMUDIAN At the Reefs Hotel, this panoramic restaurant
enjoys a 180-degree view of the horizon from its perch high on a cliff. Patio seating
for 40 diners is slightly less formal. A romantic dining experience, the restaurant has
a blue-green decor, inspired by the ocean, and Bermuda cedar beams adorning the
ceiling.
You can start with Bermuda classics including a rum-laced fish chowder or else a
traditional Bermuda fishcake with Asian black plum sauce. For your main course, try
a daily fresh Bermudian delicacy, or such classics as rack of lamb crusted with mus-
tard and fresh herbs or grilled beef tenderloin with a smoky bacon sauce and shallots
glazed with Bermuda honey. There are always vegetarian options.

The Ocean Grill & The Cedar Room INTERNATIONAL Set within the previ-
ously recommended Pompano Beach Club, this pair of restaurants offers well-pre-
pared food and big-windowed views over some of the most dramatic seacoast in the
Atlantic. The more cutting-edge and “trendy” of the two is the Ocean Grill, offering
a double tier of windows with sweeping sea views, and a la carte seafood dishes that
evoke a big-city dining enclave. The Cedar Room is more conservative, with furniture
crafted from pre-blight cedar. It focuses on traditional North American and Bermu-
dian mainstays. Menu items change with the seasons but are likely to include lamb
chops marinated in lavender and pink peppercorns served with a port wine sauce;
grilled tiger shrimp with a miso and sake glaze; 10-ounce New York strip steaks with
guava-flavored black rum sauce; and a wide array of sinfully rich—and often artfully
decorated—desserts such as a dark chocolate pyramid.
In the Pompano Beach Club, 36 Pompano Beach Rd., &   441/234-0222. Reservations recommended.
Set-price dinners (in Cedar Room only) $56; main courses $19-$40. AE, DC, MC, V. Daily 6:30-9:30pm.
Bus: 7 or 8.
Royston's CONTINENTAL As part of the multi-million dollar expansion of
the Reefs Hotel & Club, the owners installed a formal restaurant that's one of the best
bets for hotel dining on the island. The cuisine is light, full flavored, and sometimes
impertinently inventive. Start with such well-crafted appetizers as beef carpaccio in
white truffle oil and perhaps the freshly made cold lobster and melon bisque. Main
courses feature the market-fresh catch of the day or else such meat selections as beef
Wellington in a truffle sauce. Lobster ravioli is a savory delight, as is the seared halibut
with a vegetable ratatouille. One of the chef 's specialties is an oven-roasted Cornish
hen marinated in Bermuda black rum and served with Italian couscous.
