Avocado, mango, and many others have skin that surrounds flesh that is eaten and have
a large seed in the middle. In other cases the fruit may have a thick rind surrounding a
collection of flesh that is eaten but that also surrounds a large seed. An example of this
arrangement is found in the jackfruit; see Figure 6.13. In other cases the seed may be
contained in the edible portion of the fruit and the fruit and seed are both eaten, for
