tours on segways (two-wheeled, electric-powered conveyances). Tours follow an abbrevi-
ated version of the bike tour's Pest route and depart from the Discover Budapest office at
9.30am and 3pm daily. There's an evening tour at 6pm from April to October only. You must
book at least a day ahead for these tours.

Pest and Buda leaves from V Deák Ferenc tér (opposite Le Meridien Hotel) daily at
10.30am and the 1½-hour tour of Pest from the same place at 2.30pm. See the website for

hour guided walk through City Park, central Pest and Castle Hill run by the people behind
Yellow Zebra Bikes. Tours depart daily at 10am year-round from the Discover Budapest of-
fice behind the Opera House. It also has specialist tours, including the popular 3½-hour
Hammer & Sickle Tour (adult/student 13,500/13,000) of Budapest's Communist past.
Hungária Koncert ( 1-317 1377; www.ticket.info.hu ) Focusing on Budapest's Jewish
heritage, a 1½- to two-hour tour leaves at 10am Monday to Friday, again at 2pm Monday to
Thursday and at 11am Sunday from May to October. The tour includes a visit to the Great
Synagogue, the Jewish Museum and the Holocaust Cemetery for 3900Ft. The Grand Tour
(an hour longer) adds the Orthodox Synagogue, a ghetto walking tour and a kosher snack
for 9400/8900Ft per adult/student. Tickets are available from locations throughout the city,
including the Duna Palota .
