Right in the middle of City Park, Kertem is a wonderful beer garden, filled with multicol-
oured chairs and trees strung with fairy lights. By day it's an easygoing oasis full of families,
by night it's a great place to grab a beer and a burger and listen to live music (hosted on
weekend evenings).

A very relaxed open space and club on the southern edge of City Park, Dürer Kert boasts
some of the best DJs on the 'garden' circuit. Concerts, too, from indie to jazz.

In the southeastern corner of City Park is Budapest's main youth leisure centre, with an out-
side stage for up to 4500 spectators and the indoor Nagyterem (Great Hall) with space for
up to 2500 people.

KINCSEM PARK
Kincsem Park, named after a 19th-century horse called 'My Treasure', is the place to go for
both
ügető
(trotting) and
galopp
(flat racing). Schedules can change, but in general three
trotting meetings of 10 or 11 races take place from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday year-round and
flat racing from 2pm on Sunday between April and late November.
The biggest event of the year is Ügetőszilveszter, a vastly popular extraordinary trotting
meeting that attracts all ages on the afternoon of New Year's Eve.
It's about 2.5km southeast of City Park close to Ferenc Puskás Stadium.
