Just opposite the Hungarian National Museum, this well-stocked bookshop has both used
and antique volumes in a Babel of languages, including English. It's our favourite of the
many bookshops on this street.

Are they hats or is it art? We'll say both. Some of the limited headgear in a wide range of
colours and fabrics on offer in this small gem of a boutique are out of this world (or at least
on their way there). Artist-designer Fazekas also does silk scarves and stylish tops.

Housed in Béla Latja's Rózsavölgyi House, a wonderful example of early Modernist archi-
tecture, this is a great choice for CDs and DVDs of traditional folk and classical music, with
a good selection of sheet music. Also sells concert tickets and hosts performances in its up-
stairs cafe.

'Death by chocolate' has arrived in Budapest by way of Gyula, a city in Hungary's south-
east where the delectable handmade bonbons sold here are made and served at the celeb-
rated Százéves Cukrászda (Century Cake Shop). Also serves delicious ice cream (220Ft a
scoop).
