Pesti Vigadó, the Romantic-style concert hall built in 1864 and reopened in 2014 after a
10-year closure and reconstruction, hosts classical concerts in opulent surrounds.

In the old bays below Erzsébet tér, where once buses used to drop off and pick up passen-
gers, you'll now find Akvárium Klub, delivering a varied program of Hungarian and interna-
tional live music, from indie, jazz, world and pop to electronica and beyond. The main hall
has capacity for 1500, the small for 700.
There are also regular club nights here, and a bar and bistro. A carpet of drinkers layers
the surrounding steps in warm weather.
