The 'Black Foot' (a kind of Spanish ham, not a podiatric affliction) is a lovely Spanish tapas
bar and restaurant and a much-needed addition to this desert district of gastronomy in Buda.
The decor is fine, and the floor tiles and ceiling fans help create a mood

Good cheese and an excellent wine selection.

This old-style eatery faces (and, in the warmer weather, has outside seating in) Óbuda's
most beautiful and historical square. Try the signature
halászlé
(fish soup; 1190Ft to
2490Ft), which comes in various guises. As the restaurant's motto says:

(You can't beat fish soup). Good vegetarian options too.

Part of Óbuda's ambitious Symbol complex of five bars and restaurants built in and around
a late-18th-century townhouse, this eatery serves relatively reasonably priced 'Italian fu-
sion' (meaning they Magyarise the pasta) as well as simpler fare like wood-fired pizza
(1380Ft to 2380Ft). There's live music and a good kids' menu.

This tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant in the basement of a mini shopping mall in Óbuda
serves some of the best Japanese food in town. There's a special daily menu of five dishes
for 4500Ft.
