Tropicarium
The vast aquarium complex Tropicarium ( GOOGLE MAP ; 1-424 3053; www.tropicarium.hu ;

Europe. The place prides itself on its local specimens - 'fish species of the Hungarian
fauna' - though there's an 11m-long shark aquarium containing all manner of the
beasties. Feeding time is between 3pm and 4pm on Thursday.

Built in 1566, these renovated baths are the most Turkish of all in Budapest, with an octa-
gonal pool, domed cupola with coloured glass and massive columns. It's a real zoo on
mixed weekend nights, when bathing costumes are compulsory. You can enter the lovely
swimming pool (with locker weekday/weekend 2000/23000Ft, with thermal bath 3900/4200Ft ;
6am-8pm daily, 10pm-4am Fri & Sat) separately if you're more interested in swimming than
soaking.
