Consulates in Tibet
The only diplomatic representation in Tibet is the
Nepali Consulate-General
(, Níbó'ěr Lǐng-
noon Mon-Fri)
in Lhasa. Visas are issued the next day at 4.30pm, though you can sometimes
get your passport back the same day. It's located on a side street between the Lhasa Hotel
and the Norbulingka.
Visa fees change frequently, but at the time of research 15-/30-/90-day multiple entry
visas cost ¥175/280/700. All visas are valid for six months from the date of issue. Bring one
visa photo.
It should also be possible to obtain the same Nepali visas at Kodari, the Nepali border
town, although it would be sensible to check first that this has not changed.
