Owned by the Yak Hotel in Lhasa, this place is an OK first choice. The cheaper rooms
have communal squat toilets but no showers. Rooms are arranged around an inner atrium.

One of the best hotels in town, in the southeast suburbs.

Eating
Ali has numerous Chinese restaurants south and west of the main junction and, given the
town's remote location, they are surprisingly good value for money. There are also a few
Tibetan places around (don't expect English menus). For supplies try the Baiyi Super-
market ( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; Shiguanhe Donglu) , or the supermarket ( MAP GOOGLE MAP
) next to Heng Yuan Guesthouse. For fresh produce try the fruit & vegetable market (
MAP GOOGLE MAP ; Shiquanhe Donglu) .
